I first got into dancing when my best friend and I decided to check out our local dance hall on a Wednesday night for country line dance lessons. I fell in love with dance and met some of my best friends.
After line dancing, I begrudgingly stepped into country swing partner dancing only to grow to love it as much as line dancing! Now, on any given dance night, you’ll catch me on the floor pretty much 50/50 between line dancing and partner dancing.
About a year ago, I started teaching weekly line dance lessons at a local honky-tonk in Charlotte. Since then, I’ve taught at plenty of public and private events.
When I started dancing, I had to figure things out on my own. You don’t have to. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been dancing awhile and want to take it to the next level, I’d love to help.
How did I get the name “The Hardwood Duke”?
That’s a story for later.
